Suan la tang jiao (酸辣湯餃/酸辣汤饺) (pinyin with tones: suān là tāng jiǎo) is the combination of suan la tang (酸辣湯, hot and sour soup) and shui jiao (水餃, steamed dumpling), which is literally putting shui jiao into suan la tang that simple. Restaurants that serve these two dishes will possibly serve suan la tang jiao because the ingredients are totally the same. Similar applications are niu rou tang jiao (牛肉湯餃) and yu mi nong tang jiao (玉米濃湯餃).
