Xiang gu ji tang (香菇雞湯/香菇鸡汤) (pinyin with tones: xiāng gū jī tāng) is a classic Taiwanese soup, the taste of which mainly comes from chicken and shiitake mushrooms. The indispensable spices and condiments are garlic, ginger, and Taiwanese cooking rice wine. Xiang gu ji tang requires not many ingredients and is easy to cook so that it is a popular home cooking especially when the weather turns cold.
