Shui Zhu Yu Mi (水煮玉米) Boiled Corn On The Cob |
Shui zhu yu mi (水煮玉米) (pinyin with tones: shuǐ zhǔ yù mǐ) is literally boiled corn on the cob. With the simplest cooking method, you can taste the purity and sweetness of corn. There are two common types of shui zhu yu mi. One is nuo yu mi (糯玉米, waxy corn), which has a chewy texture and different colors like white, purple, yellow, or mixed color; another is tian yumi (甜玉米, sweet corn), normally yellow, which tastes crispier and sweeter than nuo yu mi. You can find shui zhu yu mi stands in traditional markets or in night markets.
