Ya shang (鴨賞/鸭赏) (pinyin with tones: yā shǎng) is ready-to-eat shredded duck meat in sealed package which has been corned and smoked roasted with sugar cane. It is one of the famous food in Yilan (宜蘭).

 

Ways To Enjoy Yā Shǎng (鴨賞)

Since ya shang is a bit too salty, people usually eat it with vegetables. One common way to eat ya shang is to stir it with chopped scallion or garlic sprouts without being heated. Another way is to stir-fry ya shang with chopped scallion, garlic sprouts, cabbage, or make it into fried rice. Ya shang can also be eaten alone by microwaving or just after unpacking it.
