Tshun Tso (寸棗) Fried Flour Candy
Tshun Tso (寸棗) Fried Flour Candy
Tshun tso (寸棗) (Taiwanese: tshùn tsó) is a traditional sweet snack people usually eat during Chinese New Year. Tshun tso is made of glutinous flour, maltose, and sugar, and cut into finger-sized strip and deep fried. It usually has two colors: golden brown and pink. The shape and colors of tshun tso is very pleasing because someone says it looks like bullion, which is quite suitable for Chinese New Year. You can find tshun tso in traditional markets or some specialty shops.
「小時候在阿嬤家過年的零食總是有寸棗;現在每到過年即便有各式精美的年節禮盒,仍不敵在傳統市場用著透明塑膠袋裝著的一包寸棗。」——Mosa 想念
