Da Chang O A Mian Xian (大腸蚵仔麵線/大肠蚵仔面线) Pork Large Intestine And Oyster Vermicelli
Da Chang O A Mian Xian (大腸蚵仔麵線/大肠蚵仔面线) Pork Large Intestine And Oyster Vermicelli |
Da chang o a mian xian (大腸蚵仔麵線/大肠蚵仔面线) (pinyin with tones: dà cháng ô á miàn xiàn) is a distinctive traditional snack in Taiwan. It contains pork large intestine, oyster, and vermicelli in thick soup. You can choose if you want da chang mian xian (大腸麵線, pork large intestine vermicelli), o a mian xian(蚵仔麵線, oyster vermicelli), or just mian xian (麵線, vermicelli) only. Some stands will have other ingredients like chi rou geng (赤肉羹, starch coated pork), as shown in the picture.
How To Pronounce O A (蚵仔)?
It is interesting that Taiwanese people always pronounce o a (蚵仔, oyster) in Taiwanese. We don’t pronounce the Taiwanese-to-Chinese word “蚵仔, é zǐ,” nor the formal Chinese word of oyster “牡蠣, mǔ lì.”
「平常不太吃大腸蚵仔麵線,自從有一次媽媽買了一家聽說要排隊排很久的綜合麵線(有大腸蚵仔還有赤肉羹的那種)後,就更不會去買路上其他家麵線了。」——Mosa 說
