Shan Yao Pai Gu Tang (山藥排骨湯/山药排骨汤) Yam With Pork Ribs Soup
Shan Yao Pai Gu Tang (山藥排骨湯/山药排骨汤) Yam With Pork Ribs Soup
Shan yao pai gu tang (山藥排骨湯/山药排骨汤) (pinyin with tones: shān yào pái gǔ tāng), yam with pork ribs soup, is a healthy and nutritious soup that is often on the table of every family in Taiwan. You may also find shan yao pai gu tang in restaurants or diners all year round. Unlike ma you ji (麻油雞, sesame oil chicken soup), shan yao pai gu tang is milder but also boosts your energy. The main ingredients of original shan yao pai gu tang are yam, pork ribs, red dates (or jujubes), and wolfberries. There are still some shan yao pai gu tang added with other ingredients such as shiitake mushrooms, carrots, corns, and clams.
