Bi Lau (米粩) Rice Puff With Poprice
Bi Lau (米粩) Rice Puff With Poprice |
Bi lau (米粩), Mua Lau (麻粩), And Thoo Tau Lau (土豆粩)
Mua lau can broadly be referred to as all rice puffs such as bi lau and thoo tau lau (土豆粩or花生粩, rice puff with peanut powder). Traditionally we serve mua lau as offering for worshiping gods, goddesses, or ancestors in certain festivals or Chinese New Year. It costs time and efforts to make mua lau, so people did not have it in ordinary days. Now that the quality of life improves, mua lau becomes popular. You can find it in specialty shops, traditional markets, or old streets.
「米粩就像橢圓形的米香,中間蓬鬆的地方讓人有『攝取熱量叫米香少』的錯覺,殊不知卻以此為藉口越吃越多......」——Mosa 自己說
