Shuang Bao Tai (雙胞胎/双胞胎) Horse Hooves Donut
Shuang Bao Tai (雙胞胎/双胞胎) Horse Hooves Donut |
Shuang bao tai (雙胞胎/双胞胎) (pinyin with tones: shuāng bāo tāi), horse hooves donut, is a traditional Taiwanese sweet snack which is made of fried dough coated with sugar. Shuang bao tai in Chinese means “twins” and it is named because it looks like two same donuts connected together. You can find shuāng bāo tāi in food trucks or snack stands on the street. The stands selling shuang bao tai may also sell zhi ma qiu (芝麻球, sesame ball) and suan cai bao (酸菜包, fried Chinese sauerkraut bun). The founding store is near the ferry boat wharf in Bali, New Taipei City.
